“Almost Ready, Baby!” (Third Trimester Tea)

$32.99

The second in the collection of womanhood health at Michelle’s Well, “Almost Ready, Baby!” is our third trimester tea.

Red Raspberry Leaf has been used throughout history for uterine and pregnancy health. Purported benefits include strengthening the uterine muscles, shortening labor, and easing labor pain. The tea is thought to increase blood flow to the uterus and strengthen uterine muscle fibers. This may help improve the effectiveness of contractions during labor. Raspberry leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and E, as well as iron, calcium, and potassium.

Nettle is often a favorite among herbalists, because it’s such a powerhouse of a plant! Nettle infusions are extremely high in calcium and magnesium. Some sources say that one quart of a nettle infusion contains 1000mg of Calcium and 300mg of Magnesium! For reference, that amount meets the daily recommendation for women for both calcium and magnesium. Nettle also contains Vitamin A, C, E, F, K, Zinc, magnesium, iron, copper, selenium, boron, bromine, chlorophyll, potassium, phosphorus, iodine, chromium, and many of the B Complex Vitamins.

Alfalfa is particularly good in later pregnancy to boost Vitamin K, which may help prevent postpartum hemorrhage.

It has a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurvedic medicines for digestive complaints, jaundice, and blood clotting disorders. There is also evidence that some 19th-century physicians used alfalfa for the same purposes and also to encourage lactation in nursing mothers.

Alfalfa contains a wide variety of minerals including iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine, sodium, potassium, silicon, and trace elements. It is also a good source of vitamin E, vitamin C, and vitamin K, which is necessary for blood clotting.

Also, it contains the highest chlorophyll content of any plant and is often used to make liquid chlorophyll and is highly nutritious.

Dandelion root encourages bile production in the liver and speeds up the elimination of wastes, cleansing toxins like hormone disrupting chemicals that can build up and stress the liver. Further, hormone balance can be improved by the use of dandelion because it’s the liver’s job to metabolize excess hormones. Dandelion root and leaf can also help relieve mild edema and nourish the liver. Dandelion root is also a gentle diuretic for pregnancy-related water retention. It can help fight fatigue, system sluggishness, and constipation, all common pregnancy issues. Dandelion is a high source of vitamin A, B, C, D, calcium, potassium and iron, and is healthy and safe for moms-to-be.

Rosehips are a good source of Vitamin C and helps boost the immune system.

Ginger root relieves nausea and vomiting.

Lastly, we chose Goji Berries in this formula because they are an adaptogen, which can help with cortisol levels and help keep your adrenals healthy. Goji berries are considered a superfood due to their high nutritional content. Specifically, the antioxidant properties prevent or delay certain types of cell damage, which helps reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and age-related degeneration. In general, antioxidant-rich foods are associated with a lower risk of stress-related diseases. During pregnancy, your changing body is producing a higher amount of free radicals, and that’s why eating antioxidant-rich foods is important with a baby on the way. They help maintain efficient energy levels, have immune boosting properties, may help improve your baby’s vision because of the high content of vitamin A, support skin health and improve your sleep quality and your blood flow by helping regulate blood circulation. Not to mention, it makes the tea delicious as well!!
